No electro-tap or wiring processing is required. *There was a case in an earlier model vehicle where the target connector was fixed at the back with a tie wrap and needed to be cut with long nippers. If you are concerned, we recommend that you check in advance whether you can access the connector. *For later models, remove the shift trim by hand, but it will be easier to remove if the inner lining is peeled off.
