For sale here we have a Paul H. Young 9' Prosperity model bamboo fly rod. Three pieces, one tip. The rod is in near mint, restored condition, from the family of Hazel Johnson, long time fly-tier for the Paul H. Young Rod Company. The rod was beautifully restored by Bob Summers in May of 1993. The only issues with the rod are that the mid and tip are both short. The tip is down 1" and the mid 2". The rod features variegated rust and black silks. Richly colored lightly flamed cane. The original cigar cork grip is in great condition. The brassy colored ferrules are sizes 18/64 and 12/64; the fit is excellent.  Aluminum down-locking reel seat with fine wood spacer. Written on the rod in Bob Summers' hand (in yellow writing): Paul H. Young Prosperity Rod and (in black): Refinished May 1993 by R.W. Summers. The rod has an authoritative medium-fast action for a 6/7wt line. The rod weighs 6 1/4 oz. and comes with a replacement brown canvas bag and aluminum tube.
