Unique WISECO has all of its pistons forged in house. All Forge tooling is also made in the USA. Every aspect of the manufacturing process is controlled from raw bar to skirt coated finished parts. The harsh racing conditions demand the strength and toughness that only forged pistons can provide. Piston forgings are tougher and tougher than the required for withstanding high-performance motorsport applications. Most castings are brittle, with grain structure and material prone to catastrophic failure when the yield strength is exceeded. The forging has a concentrated wood grain, which allows some features to be used, such as high mechanical properties, which affect resistance, fatigue, etc. Each forge is designed to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio and maximize performance.
