The name Gaba comes from the English abbreviation GABA (Gamma-AminoButyric Acid) — a neurotransmitter first synthesized in 1883, long before scientists discovered its role in the mammalian central nervous system in the 1950s. Today, GABA is marketed as a nootropic compound believed to enhance memory and brain metabolism. It acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter that calms the central nervous system.

The Gaba fragrance was created in the spirit of Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois. In the opening, they differ only in subtle nuances — barely perceptible even in a side-by-side comparison. For the first few hours, Gaba feels denser and more saturated overall.
